Recovery Coaching

As a licensed clinical social worker, I combine coaching with cognitive-behavioral techniques and a comprehensive understanding of your life history to provide assistance. A good coaching experience requires a safe, empathetic environment that promotes self-exploration and growth. I am a very interactive coach and help clients explore their life responses to develop the self-regulation and life-management skills necessary to create the healthiest and most connected version of themselves.

Please note: Recovery Coaching is different from Individual Psychotherapy in that it does not require a mental health diagnosis and is not covered by insurance companies. Coaching tends to be time limited, strength based, and focuses on providing education and support.

In coaching, clients examine challenges that often result in unhealthy or unproductive behaviors.

These responses frequently interfere with an individual’s ability to experience a sense of well-being. What many individuals do not initially understand, is that their patterns of behavior usually result from ingrained and negative belief systems. In coaching, we systematically challenge these negative beliefs and help the individual create and embrace positive self-regard and empowerment.

Life is full of challenges and unanticipated events, relationship problems, money issues, health concerns, work conflict, and grief and loss to name a few. It is essential to address these issues before becoming so overwhelmed you risk your sobriety and become immobilized.

The coaching process teaches clients specific skills to gain more control over their thoughts, decrease vulnerability to negative emotions, and be less reactive in their responses.

I teach techniques to assist in effective communication, boundary setting, stress management, and conflict resolution. Coaching will help you navigate through stressful times to create more balance, harmony, and fulfillment. If you want to experience more empowerment, a compassionate and skilled counselor/coach can be extremely beneficial in helping you attain the empowerment you seek.
